We value and recognize that volunteers enhance the learning experiences of our students and strengthen school and community partnerships. Volunteering is an opportunity to model and promote the value of developing positive relationships as caring and contributing citizens within our community.
Schools welcome parents, guardians and community members as volunteers who support the life of the school (such as field trips, classroom assistance, reading to students, healthy snack program, pizza days, hotdog days, milk program, fundraising, clubs/extra curricular activities, school council, etc.)
Please contact the school for specific volunteer opportunities at Springfield Public School.
To our many parents and community volunteers, we continue to provide another great year of activity and excitement for our students. We certainly couldn't do it without you. Thank you to the many volunteers who have continually offered a helping hand throughout the school year.
Criminal Background Check and Annual Offence Declaration
All volunteers will have a Criminal Background Check, which includes vulnerable sector screening. A letter is required from the office to ensure that the appropriate screening is completed. For further information, refer to the Ontario Provincial Police website or the Aylmer Police website. Criminal Background checks will be completed by either police force, dependent on your address.
If there is a Criminal Background Check with vulnerable sector screening on file at the school, the volunteer is required to complete the Thames Valley School Board's Annual Offence Declaration for subsequent years. This form s available through our office.
Mandatory Volunteer Training
All volunteers must watch the Accessibility within Thames Valley training video before volunteering at one of our schools.
